Looking for a new or used JD1070 compact with turf tires either 2 or 4wd. Perferably in central Wisconsin but can haul farther. Please e-mail me if you know of any available tractors.

There are still new 1070's out there. Contact your local dealer. They can do a search for you and ship to your house. Probably 2-3 weeks for a out of state new 1070. By the way the 1070 is a fine tractor! ....

In May of this year I asked two John Deere dealerships to sell me a new 1070. The dealers are:....Long's Equipment just North of Denver, and Steven'sEquipment in Castle Rock, Colorado. I gave each one 2 weeks to find a new 1070. I said I would buy one if they could find it in 4wd. Neither dealer wasable to locate such a machine. I was pretty hot on doing getting one....in factit was my wife who was pushing me to go ahead and for once in my life just buya brand new tractor! So you can imagine that I was excited...We were both disappointed when none were to be found. Stevens said that the last one thatthey heard of was in December of 1998. Both dealers are old AG-oriented dealerswho have been aggressively pursuing business from the weekend hobby-farmer andhis compact tractor....so I believe them when they said that there were noneto be found. I know its a long way from, but you might give Steve Hofelmann a call in Carlton Oregon. He regularly has low hour used 1070s. Right now he has 2, one with 300hrs the other with 330hrs. Both have loaders, and the one with 330hrs has a backhoe. He is asking $17500 & $22000 respectively. His phone # is 503-852-7961. ....

Just for your info. I passed thru Helena, Arkansas last friday and I saw what appeared to be two new 1070's.One was 4 wd and the other 2wd. Its possible they were 970's, but having just bought a new 1070 I think I wouldrecognize one. I absolutely love mine. Just thought it may be a helpful lead for someone.James ....
